Northvolt expands Voltpack Core product offering with two new battery packs

Northvolt is proud to announce the expansion of its Voltpack Core product line with the introduction of two new compact battery packs. These additions advance Northvolt's capability to provide innovative, scalable, and high-performance battery system solutions that enable the electrification of industrial applications.

Voltpack Core is an industrial-grade, high energy density lithium-ion battery pack designed to replace heavy diesel engines in the most demanding environments.

An off-the-shelf, plug-and-play solution, Voltpack Core simplifies the path to industrial electrification for a range of applications, big or small.

The new models in the Voltpack Core portfolio come with smaller physical footprints, allowing for easy integration into various industrial applications. Elin Åkerström, VP Industrial, reflects on the new range: “We launched Voltpack Core in 2019 — it was Northvolt’s first generation of battery system. And as a battery pack to enable the electrification of large machines, it is a great product. It has a large capacity, is incredibly robust and it’s performed very well in the field."

Elin continued: "But as we’ve continued to gain experience and engage with the market, we’ve learnt more about the needs of customers. It became clear that there was demand for a smaller Voltpack Core — something that still offered great volumetric energy, but came with a smaller, lighter physical footprint. That’s what has led to the new, 21 and 39 kWh additions to the Voltpack Core range, which really expand the scope of vehicle applications we can support, down to that smaller and mid-size area."

Voltpack Core battery packs provide the essential building blocks for electrifying vehicles and stationary industrial applications.
